The FUT042 is an RGB LED controller kit on the 433MHz band. It carries 12A — more than the 2.4GHz RGB kits, which stop at 10A — but it sits outside the MiBoxer 2.4GHz ecosystem, which is the thing to understand before you buy.
What This Kit Works With
- RGB LED strip — 4 pads (V+, R, G, B)
- Common-anode constant-voltage tape at DC 12V or 24V
- 6A per channel and 12A total — up to 288W at 24V
- Only the 433MHz remote supplied in this kit, and other 433MHz MiBoxer remotes
Not compatible with: Addressable / pixel tape is not supported. If your strip is marked WS2812B, WS2811, WS2815 or SK6812, or has three pads (VCC / DAT / GND) with a chip on every LED, it needs an SPI controller instead.
Count the solder pads on the cut end of your strip. Two pads is single colour, three is tunable white, four is RGB, five is RGBW and six is RGB+CCT. A chip marking such as WS2812B means the strip is addressable and needs an SPI controller rather than a PWM one.
This kit runs on 433MHz, not 2.4GHz. That matters more than it sounds. The 433MHz controller and its remote only talk to each other — they will not pair with any of our 2.4GHz MiBoxer remotes (C1, C3, FUT006, FUT007, FUT087, C4), and they cannot be upgraded to app or voice control with the WL-Box2 gateway, which is a 2.4GHz device. If you already own any MiBoxer 2.4GHz gear, or think you might add app control later, buy the 2.4GHz version instead.
Before You Buy: This One Is 433MHz
The FUT042 and the 2.4GHz FUT020 / FUT025 kits do the same lighting job. The difference is the radio band, and it decides what else the kit can ever work with. On 433MHz the controller and its own remote are a closed pair. On 2.4GHz the controller joins the rest of the MiBoxer range — any of our 2.4GHz remotes, and the WL-Box2 gateway for app and voice control. Buy the 433MHz version only if you want this one kit on its own, or you are matching existing 433MHz gear.
Key Features
12A total output
Higher than the 2.4GHz RGB kits, which stop at 10A.
433MHz band
A lower frequency than 2.4GHz, which carries slightly better through dense walls.
16 million colours
A full colour wheel with brightness and saturation control.
Matched pair in the box
Controller and remote supplied together, already compatible.
Common-anode output
The standard wiring for 12-24V RGB tape.
Not gateway upgradeable
There is no 433MHz gateway; app and voice control are not available on this kit.

Setup Notes
- Power off before wiring.
- Match the supply voltage to the strip — a 24V strip on a 12V supply looks dim, and a 12V strip on 24V will be damaged.
- These are common-anode outputs: the shared positive goes to V+, and each colour channel to its own terminal.
- Stay inside the rated output. Longer runs need a second supply with a repeater rather than a bigger controller.
- The remote needs 2 × AAA batteries, which are not included.
- Pair the remote to the controller on first use, following the pairing step in the manual — usually powering the controller off and on, then pressing a key on the remote within a few seconds.
Not Sure This Is the Right One?
- Pick the FUT020 RGB kit if you want the 2.4GHz version that works with the rest of our remotes and the gateway.
- Pick the FUT025 RGB kit if you want 2.4GHz with the FUT098 remote.
- Pick the FUT041 single colour kit (433MHz) if your strip is single colour rather than RGB.
- Pick the PR5 5-in-1 controller (20A) if you want 20A and a choice of 2.4GHz remote.
