The PR5 is a 5-in-1 LED strip controller and dimmer built for runs that are too long or too bright for an ordinary controller. At 20A and 960W it takes roughly four times the load of a typical 6A unit, and it accepts DC12-48V — so it drives 48V tape, which most low-voltage controllers cannot touch. One box covers single color, dual white, RGB, RGBW and RGB+CCT.
What This Controller Works With
- Single color strip — 2 pads (V+, V-)
- Tunable white / CCT strip — 3 pads (V+, WW, CW)
- RGB strip — 4 pads (V+, R, G, B)
- RGBW strip — 5 pads (V+, R, G, B, W)
- RGB+CCT strip — 6 pads (V+, R, G, B, WW, CW)
- Constant-voltage tape at DC 12V, 24V, 36V or 48V, up to 20A total
Not compatible with: Addressable / pixel tape is not supported. If your strip is marked WS2812B, WS2811, WS2815, SK6812 or WS2805, or has three pads (VCC / DAT / GND) with a chip on every LED, it needs an SPI controller instead — see the SPIR3 or SPIR5.
Count the solder pads on the cut end of your strip. Two pads is single color, three is tunable white, four is RGB, five is RGBW and six is RGBCCT. A chip marking such as WS2812B or SK6812 means the strip is addressable and needs an SPI controller rather than a PWM one.
When You Need 20A Instead of 6A
Most LED controllers stop at 6A to 12A. That is fine for a few metres of tape, but a long cove, a whole-room perimeter or a high-output commercial run will exceed it — and the usual workaround is a second power supply plus a repeater. The PR5 handles 960W on its own, so a single controller covers the run. The 48V support matters for the same reason: at 48V you can push a much longer run before voltage drop shows up at the far end.
Key Features
5-in-1 output modes
Single Color / Dual White / RGB / RGBW / RGB+CCT, selected on the controller.
SET button mode selection
White = Single Color, yellow = Dual White, red = RGB, green = RGBW, blue = RGB+CCT.
20A / 960W capacity
Around four times the load of a typical 6A controller, on one unit.
DC12-48V input
Covers 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V constant-voltage tape.
PUSH dimming
Wire an ordinary momentary wall switch: short press for ON/OFF, long press for stepless dimming.
4096-level dimming
A logarithmic curve from 0.1% to 100%, so low settings stay smooth rather than stepping.
2.4GHz RF control
Up to 30m through walls, with no phone, account or network involved.
PWM frequency switching
High-frequency mode for flicker-free video; low-frequency mode where it is not needed.
Auto-transmitting & sync
Linked controllers relay the RF signal and run dynamic modes in step across a large space.
DMX512
Supported in RGB+CCT output mode with a compatible DMX512 transmitter.
Do Not Disturb mode
Configurable behaviour after a power failure.
Adding App and Voice Control
The PR controllers answer a 2.4GHz remote out of the box. To add phone and voice control — scenes, schedules, control from outside the house, Alexa and Google Home — add the WL-Box2 2.4GHz gateway. One gateway covers every compatible RF device in range, so you need one for the house rather than one per controller. It is optional: if a remote is all the room needs, skip it.

Compatible 2.4GHz RF Remotes
FUT100, FUT089S, FUT089 / FUT089-B, FUT088, FUT092 / FUT092-B, FUT096 / FUT096-B, B8, B0 / B0-B, B4 / B4-B / T4, B3 / B3-B / T3, S2W+ and WL-Box2. These are the Mi-Light / MiBoxer 2.4GHz remote family, so remotes you already own will pair.
Installation Notes
Use a regulated DC12-48V constant-voltage supply that matches your strip — a 24V strip on a 12V supply looks dim, and a 12V strip on 24V will be damaged. Select the output mode with the SET button before connecting the strip. Stay inside 20A and 960W. The housing is IP20, so mount it somewhere dry and ventilated even when the tape itself is outdoor rated.

Not Sure This Is the Right One?
- Pick the PR2 2-in-1 CCT Dimmer if your strip is white only — single color or tunable — and you want to save a little.
- Pick the E3RF if your run is small and 6A per channel at 12-24V is enough.
- Pick the SPIR5 if your strip is addressable / pixel tape.
